Joey Chestnut is heading to Orlando. UCF Athletics announced on Nov. 4 that the 18-time Nathan's Famous champion will spend the second weekend of November on campus, and the main event is a key lime pie eating competition.

The format

Chestnut will go up against five teams of two, so every one of his opponents gets a partner. The contest is set for Saturday, Nov. 14, before UCF football hosts Arizona State at Acrisure Bounce House.

It will be held on the Corona Concert Series Stage on IOA Plaza, between the Knight Walk and March to Victory pregame events. UCF says the start time will be set once the Big 12 and its TV partners announce kickoff. A prize goes to the winner; the school has not said what it is.

The week in eating. Every Monday.

Who gets a seat

Fans can buy a spot to compete. The other teams will be made up of UCF students, influencers, local media personalities and well-known UCF names. Students get a shot at a place through a qualifier at the Friday, Nov. 13 basketball doubleheader, when the UCF women host LeMoyne at 5:30 p.m. and the men host Georgia Southern at 8 p.m.

Chestnut will also be at that doubleheader, with a VIP meet and greet package on sale for fans who want to meet him before tipoff.

The weekend

The visit lines up with UCF Salutes, the school's military appreciation weekend. UCF's announcement credits Chestnut with 55 world records. The school notes that all promotions are subject to change, with more details to come once a game time is set.
