The final score and contest video, posted Nov 6 by @OhioTate on X.
Joey Chestnut has taken on fans in pierogi contests at Cleveland Cavaliers games before. On Friday night at Rocket Arena, the other side finally matched him.
The final score
During the Cavaliers' home game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Nov. 6, Chestnut went head to head with a group eating together as one team. The crew behind the @OhioTate account on X made up that team, and its posted final score read: Chestnut 38, the team 38.
A tie. The post includes video of the contest.
Calls for a rematch
The same post passes along a comment from a member of the Cavaliers organization, who said the same group should come back for a rematch and that nobody had come that close to beating Chestnut before.
The Cavaliers won the game itself 119-95.
Next stop: Orlando
Chestnut's next announced appearance is at UCF, where he takes on five two-person teams in a key lime pie contest before the Knights host Arizona State on Nov. 14.
